Wanted to cover all the relevant info, in case the authorities here finally take action. If you like, watch at 150% or 200% speed. This past summer, I started testing 21700 cells. Before the big database, before the spreadsheet, before testing all current high-power 21700s, I had one goal: To see if fake cells were being sold on the Ukrainian market - in particular to our Military. (BTW, I'm American, but now live in Ukraine.) I suspected some cells being sold here were fakes, because their prices were too low to be true. Less than the cost of cells at wholesale + shipping + customs duty. I decided to focus on the P45B. Bought a bunch of them from different local sellers, plus cells from Nkon, a known reputable distributor. Thus, my cell testing career began. I did the original testing for fakes way back in July. After I'd found two fakes (and had proof of who was selling them), I contacted news outlets in Ukraine. And the result? Nothing. My multiple requests were ignored. So now, 5 months later, I'm finally releasing this video about the fake cells. Hopefully the info in it will also help save you from buying fakes! And hopefully - finally - after this video is released, some action will be taken here to stop fake battery sellers in the country. Poor performing fake cells can have a real, significant, detrimental result - even life and death - for our ZSU Military guys who rely on them for the expected performance.
