My Daily Bicycle Commute - Toronto - October 2013
This video shows the route that I ride to get home after a day at work. I specifically waited to film this video until late October so that the fall colours would be at their finest. I work in the Yonge and Sheppard area of North York and live near Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto. The commute is about 7.75km and takes around 25 minutes. I realize that this video is not suited for everyone, since it is so long. However, I'm hoping that there are people from around the world who bicycle in other countries who will be interested to watch. I have added in a digital speedometer and heart rate monitor, and included voice commentary to help keep the video interesting. Toronto is not a particularly bike friendly city, so finding a safe route can be difficult. In this video I used my new Contour Roam 2 camera to shoot the action footage. I recorded the audio with my Panasonic voice recorder. I tracked the speed and heart rate using my Garmin eTrex 30 GPS, and wrote a basic program in Turing to display the numbers on the screen. I hope you enjoy it, and maybe this will inspire you to try bicycling to work! Thanks for watching!
