L'évolution biologique : cette rupture qui ne vient pas… | Marc-André Selosse | TEDxAgroParisTech
It is paradoxical that Europeans, who invented the concept of evolution, use it so little. Too often, our adherence to the theory of evolution is merely a stance, but it doesn't serve its full potential in our actions concerning living organisms and the environment. In medicine, which works extensively with the evolution of microbes, our antimicrobial victories are Pyrrhic, as evidenced by antibiotic resistance. In agriculture, which also involves managing the evolution of pathogens and undesirable species, we struggle to find sustainable solutions. Discover how evolution has sometimes unlocked complex situations and what it promises for the future as a tool to enhance our relationship with nature and shape our future in the world. Marc-André Selosse is a biologist and professor at the National Museum of Natural History since 2013. He has worked on symbiosis, particularly in the fields of evolution and ecology. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
