Henrik Fisker's career as an automotive designer was shaping up well: in the early 2000s, he worked at Aston Martin and was responsible for one of the brand's most successful models, the Vantage. He also served as head of Ford's global design studio in California. So, many were surprised when he decided to go it alone and found his own company, Fisker Coachbuild. Unfortunately, things didn't go well: the initial idea of ​​producing unique bodies for premium cars proved unrealistic, and after producing 15 cars, the company voluntarily closed down. The idea for the new project came to Fisker after watching the Oscars: Leonardo DiCaprio arrived at the ceremony in a Toyota Prius. It's difficult to say for sure whether the designer embraced the green agenda, but he was clearly discouraged by the lack of interesting and luxurious cars in the eco-friendly segment. Thus, in 2008, the world unveiled a concept car under the Fisker brand, later named the Karma. The car was released in 2011 and was warmly received by critics: Top Gear even named it Car of the Year 2012. However, poor reviews, high prices, and, in part, Hurricane Sandy, which destroyed a warehouse containing 350 sedans, led to the company going bankrupt. In 2014, the Chinese concern Wanxiang acquired Fisker Automotive and brought the car back into production, but this time under the name Karma Revero. In 2019, a restyled GT version was released, which you can admire in the latest issue of Mirax Autoculture. For the brand, the very concept of "karma" is a reflection of its identity.
