Kindness and healthy coexistence are ingrained in the child's brain even before birth; they represent a splendid potential that demonstrates the human species is programmed for peace, but this potential must be nurtured through the adult's role as educator. A medical doctor and surgeon, she graduated from the University of Chile, specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the same university. She holds postgraduate degrees in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Neuropsychology, from the University of Turin, Italy. She works as a child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist and is a professor at several Chilean universities. A specialist in the emotional and affective development of children, she has served as director of the Institute of Neuroscience Applied to Education and Child Mental Health. She has dedicated her experience as a physician specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry to education, proposing an innovative approach to applying neuroscience as an integrative theory, not only for pedagogy but for education in its broadest sense. She is the author and co-author of books such as "100 Questions About School Education" (2015) and "Those Crazy Little Ones" (2015).
