Day 46: Arzúa to O Amenal – A 22 km Journey Through Galicia’s Rural Heart

We began our journey today in Arzúa, bound for O Amenal, walking 22 kilometers (14.1 miles). The path today was a beautiful mix of countryside and small villages, with the excitement of reaching Santiago growing closer with each step. We passed through several towns along the way, including Pregontono, A Peroxa, and As Quintas. The route continued through A Calzada, Boavista, and Salceda, before WE reached A Brea, O Empalme, and Santa Irene. The final stretch took us through A Rúa before reaching O Amenal. After walking 22 kilometers, we arrived at Kilometer 15 for the night. With just 17 kilometers (a little over 10 miles) left to go to Santiago, we were now so close to completing the Camino, and the excitement was palpable.
