🕊️ SAN GREGORIO MAGNO: PALOMA Espíritu Santo Dictó - Canto Gregoriano 📖
Blessed family! 🕊️📖 Rome, 590 AD. Deacon Peter secretly watched Pope Gregory's cell. He saw the white dove of the Holy Spirit perched on Gregory's shoulder, whispering in his ear. Gregory paused when the dove spoke and wrote when it finished, receiving direct divine inspiration. Thus he received Gregorian chant, used for 1,400 years. Today, Archangel Michael stopped the plague. This is the story of Saint Gregory the Great, Pope, Doctor of the Church, patron saint of singers, who was born in 540 in Rome to a noble senatorial family. He was Prefect of Rome for thirty years, holding the highest office. In 574 he renounced everything, converted to a palace and monastery, sold his riches, gave to the poor, and lived as a monk. He saw young Anglo-Saxons in the market in Rome, saying "Non Angli sed Angeli" (not Angles, but Angels), and decided to evangelize England. Elected Pope in 590, he refused the plague and fled, accepting obedience as "Servus Servorum Dei" (Servant of the Servants of God). The Archangel Michael appeared to him at Castel Sant'Angelo, sheathing his sword, and the plague ended immediately. The Holy Spirit, guided by a dove, dictated the writings of Gregorian chant. Deacon Peter saw a miracle. He sent Augustine of Canterbury to evangelize England in 597. He was converted. Christ appeared to him at Mass, and he received the Man of Sorrows, the wounds of the crucifixion, and had a vision of the Eucharist. He died in 604, a Doctor of the Church, and Gregorian chant endures to this day. 🕊️👼🎵 00:00 - Introduction 02:06 - He will be great in the service of God 04:12 - He resigned from his position as Prefect of Rome 06:22 - Byzantine church service in the year 500 08:30 - Let Gregory go, we need him here 10:40 - End of the terrible plague, seven processions 12:52 - Immediately after the vision of the archangel 14:57 - Long pauses so frequent, Peter curious 17:03 - Confusing, different in every region 19:06 - Gregory's living legacy, Benedictine monks 21:10 - Augustine and monks arrived in Kent 23:14 - Christ himself appeared as a man 25:23 - Seventy-four, spiritual crisis, he resigned 27:36 - Mass, Saint Mary Major, Christ appeared 🔥 LO WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER: • The Holy Spirit dove whispered in his ear • How he received divine inspiration for Gregorian chant • The Archangel Michael appeared and stopped the plague • Why he said "Not Anglo-Saxons, but angels" • How he sent Augustine to evangelize England • The title "Servant of the Servants of God" • The vision of Christ at the Mass, the Man of Sorrows • Why he is a Doctor of the Church and patron saint of singers • Documented miracles confirmed by witnesses 🕊️ DOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT DICTATED Rome 540 Gregory was born into the noble family Anicia, a very wealthy senatorial family. His father was Gordian, a senator, and his mother was Silvia, a saint. He received an excellent education in Latin, Greek, rhetoric, and philosophy. At thirty, he became Prefect of Rome, the highest civil office, governor of the city, and held the position of governor, justice, government, public works, power, and prestige. Year 574, thirty-four years, deep spiritual crisis, I have success, fame, wealth, empty soul, God calls more, father died, left immense inheritance, palaces, lands, fortunes, radical decision astonished Rome, resigned, Prefect, highest office, converted palace, Caelian Hill, Benedictine monastery, Saint Andrew, sold all possessions, gave the poor absolutely nothing, donned the monk's habit, entered as the humblest monk, his own monastery, lived common, praying, working, fasting, sweeping, washing dishes, obeying Abbot Gregory, formerly Prefect, now sweeps floors, maddened but happy, never found true peace, spent years studying scriptures, church fathers, especially Benedict, prayed for hours, fasted severely, damaged his health. Gregory wrote homilies, treatises, and biblical commentaries. He worked in the papal cell as a simple deacon. Peter, his secretary, noticed Gregory writing, pausing for long periods, then continuing. The pattern repeated itself. Peter decided to spy, hiding behind a curtain that separated the desk. He saw an extraordinary miracle: a bright white dove perched on Gregory's shoulder. The Holy Spirit, in visible form, inclined his head, whispering divine words in his ear—a direct revelation. When the dove whispered, Gregory paused and listened attentively. When he finished, he wrote down exactly what he had heard. Peter, paralyzed with astonishment, witnessed the miracle with his own eyes. Later, Gregory died. Peter told everyone; that is why we know the Holy Spirit dictated the writings and Gregorian chant. 🎵 GREGORIAN CHANT 1,400 YEARS AGO Gregory completely reformed the liturgy and music of the Catholic Church. The music was disorganized, confusing, and different in each region; it needed systematization and order. Gregory, inspired by the Holy Spirit (a white dove), began to organize sacred chant. He collected ancient ...
