Lake Isabelle-Mitchell Lake-Indian Peaks Wilderness-Solo Combo-Day Hike-Colorado-Brainard Lakes

On July 10, 2024 I solo hiked to Lake Isabelle and Mitchell Lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness of Colorado. This area is part of the Brainard Lakes Recreation Area and you must have a permit to enter. There are a number a beautiful lakes in this area and none are too hard to hike to. This was my first time to hike to Lake Isabelle and it was amazingly beautiful. Dave and I attempted to hike to Lake Isabelle in December of 2023 as our farewell hike to 2023. We could only make it to the middle of Long Lake because of deep snow. We decided to add Mitchell Lake onto our 2023 last hike since we had to skip Lake Isabelle. There are often Moose in this area too. I saw two but they were too far away to film.
