Making greaves: How to rough out the back. Medieval Armour Techniques.

This video shows how I go about roughing out the back portion of a greave, the though process behind interpreting the measurements into a pattern and a few of the tools I use to create the first pass at the basic shape. I make a couple of mistakes as it's been a while filming and I was more anxious about that than I should have been and my concentration slipped; but this proves useful as I show how I recover from the errors. In the video I mention Kevin Legg of Plessis armoury, who uses a similar technique but is faster along the bottom half than me, as I haven't built up the courage to use the same technique as he does. However it works very well for him.
