Let's Twist Again YOGA | 45 Minutes | Intermediate | Detox + Release Tension & Stress #yogaflow
🇲🇾 Penang, Malaysia In this 45-minute YOGA class we we will be focussing on some deep twists, not only to release any physical tension that may be stored in our mid section but also any emotional stress we may be holding on to. I like to think about wringing out a wet rag when I practise twisting poses - rotating at either end so that the centre part lets go of the water (the tension!). Twists are also great for digestion, and for massaging the gut and internal organs. It is partially good to do on an empty stomach to stimulate digestion, detox and cleanse. Our gut is a really important part of the body, especially when we think about the gut-brain axis. The health of our gut can affect our mood and our stress levels; 70% of our immune system lives in our gut and 90% of our serotonin (our happy hormone) is produced there. If you take care of your gut, you take care of your mood. It is important not only what we put into our gut with foods but also how we take care of the gut-brain axis with our thinking. Plus twisting will help us keep good physical health in that area. This class is fairly challenging but offers modifications depending on what your body currently allows you to do.
