Another weekend for what was meant to be a battle between the Western and Southern regions turned out to not happen due to this prolonged hot weather and the lack of rain which meant the West Somerset "Steam" Express and English Riviera Express was diesel hauled once again from there respective starting points to there destinations as the loco due to haul the "Steam" express was S.R No.34028 Eddystone and for the Riviera Castle No.5029 Nunney Castle. But still the West Somerset were running their inspired mogul No.9351 for how much longer can they operate steam before a fire occurs. But still it was an enjoyble day chasing trains around Somerset with the added charter from the Branch Line Society and the Hastings Diesel Limited tour to Minehead.
