Mt Arthur Hut Loop - A Father & Daughter TRAMP in the WILD
For this latest installment of S.K.O.A, Sam is joined by his daughter Emma as they go in search of a camping spot in the wild for Emma's first ever tramp. This loop takes place in the Kahurangi National Park. Day 1 invovles a relatively short but interesting track up to Mt Arthur Hut then onwards across a nearby saddle where they leave the track and find a great tenting spot. Follwing some light rain, Day 2 sees continuation along the saddle before joining a track leading down to the historic Flora Hut and then back out to the Flora car park. This is a great walk if you are new to tramping, have young children or just don't want to walk too far yet get to experience the feeling of isolation and wilderness in New Zealand's natural beauty.
