Hiking the Heaphy Track | New Zealand Great Walk #6

March 4 - 8, 2020 - Mary solo hiked the Heaphy Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks. Located on the South Island in the Kahurangi National Park, the high lights of this point-to-point track includes beaches, varied forests, takahe birds, caves (with ancient cave spiders), tussock downs, and nocturnal carnivorous land snails. The track is open year round to hikers and from May 1 to Nov 30 for mountain bikes. Follow Mary's 5-day journey of discovery as she tramps over 80 km / 50 miles.
