Sustainability at the core of corporate strategy & business model

Why should your firm prioritise embedding sustainability into its core strategy and business model? And how can you tap into commercial potential by doing so? Listen in when two distinguished leaders in the field tell us about bringing sustainability to very core of their company: Lisa Malmquist Ekstrand, VP Sustainability at Vestas, and Caroline Reid, Director of Sustainability EMEA at Oatly. Drawing from their experiences, they will share with us their perspectives on how sustainability is at the core of their respective companies. More about the speakers Felix Bärmann is a Manager at Nordic Sustainability. He has supported numerous large private sector clients within the area of sustainability strategy and draws from his experiences in the sustainability departments of Vestas Wind Systems, Volkswagen Group, and Flying Tiger Copenhagen. Felix holds BA and BSc degrees in philosophy, economics & business from Copenhagen Business School and University of Bayreuth. Lisa Ekstrand is a Vice President Sustainability with over 14 years of experience at Vestas. Since 2019 she is leading Vestas’ sustainability department with the responsibility to drive the company’s sustainability strategy ‘Sustainability in Everything We Do’. In 2022, Vestas was named the Most Sustainable Company in the World by Corporate Knights. Prior, Lisa worked at the European Parliament advising on Environment, Climate Change and Health Policy. She has a background in Political Science from Lund University. Caroline Reid is Sustainability Director at Oatly, leading sustainability efforts for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Caroline and her team are responsible for ensuring that sustainability is integrated into everything Oatly does, supporting Oatly's mission to make it easier for people to eat better without recklessly taxing our planet's resources. Prior to joining Oatly, Caroline has more than 15 years of experience working with sustainability at IKEA. She has a background in Product Design Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The event will be moderated by Parathan Balachandran, Senior Consultant at Nordic Sustainability. Parathan comes with a previous experience from infrastructure M&A, sustainability and corporate strategy consulting. He has a background in economics & finance from University of Copenhagen.
