GRAVEL DA TREVISO AI COLLI EUGANEI | Tra Vulcani antichi e Paesaggi unici

How to welcome back autumn? Nothing better than a nice bike ride from the Treviso area to the Euganean Hills. I set off with temperatures that are a bit chilly for the season, but I take advantage of the opportunity to acclimatize for the winter season. Off we go!!! After a few kilometers, I arrive along the mill trail near Scorzè, with a must-see visit to the Cosma mill. Then, following the Mestre bypass and various dirt roads between Martellago and Salzano, I find myself in Mirano, riding the bike path along the right bank of the Taglio canal. Shortly after Marano, I change direction, taking the bank of the Serraglio stream, which will take me to Stra along a very fast dirt road; a short detour to Dolo to admire the Brenta canal with its characteristic farmhouses. From Stra, I take the bike path that runs alongside the Piovego Canal, which will take me first to Noventa Padovana and then, following the embankment of the drain, to Padua. After leaving the latter, I ride along a 12 km bike path to Battaglia Terme, running alongside the Battaglia Canal. Here I change direction again, heading towards my destination, the Euganean Hills. I cross them via a dirt road that will lead me to discover the beauty of these hills, a land of extinct volcanoes, forests, historic villages, and panoramas that unfold all around me. After a steep descent, I arrive in Lozzo Atestino, a small jewel nestled among the hills. From here, I change direction again, taking the Euganean Hills ring bike path that will take me to admire the Castle of San Martino della Vaneza in Cervarese Santa Croce, a well-preserved medieval fortress surrounded by greenery, dirt roads and cycle paths. From here, I begin the smoothest part of the ride along the beautiful Bacchiglione cycle path, a dirt and asphalt route, continuing to Montegalda and Grisignano di Zocco. At this point, I take the Treviso-Ostiglia road for about 50 km, along a straight stretch that follows a former railway line, returning me to the starting point. This route passes through three provinces of Veneto: Treviso, Padua, and Vicenza. Distance traveled: 160 km | Elevation gain: 460 m | Travel time: 6 hours and 30 minutes | Suitable for gravel and mountain biking with good training, e-bike 🚲 #cervelo 👕 Sporty outfit #sportful 🪖#kask Protone 🕶 #oakleysunglasses Sutro S ⌚️#iwatch 🧭 #garmin 830 🎥 #insta360 Go 2 Track: The GPX track is available with a small symbolic donation of €5.
