V.C.G. - Veneto Centrale Gravel: Il Grande Anello delle 3 Province
There's something hypnotic about racking up miles in the heart of Veneto. The Veneto Centrale Gravel isn't just a trail; it's a journey of endurance that spans three provinces, connecting the industrious plain to the gems of the foothills in a single, endless stream of dust and secondary asphalt. 🗺️ The Route The start and finish wind through the Treviso and Padua regions, following the rhythm of the waterways and dirt roads that cut through the countryside. The heart of the ride, however, beats in the Vicenza area, where the landscape becomes more noble and austere. • Marostica: The chess city. Crossing its medieval walls and skirting the castle is the turning point of the ride, a moment of architectural beauty that breaks the monotony of the plain. • Bassano del Grappa: Entering the city is a timeless classic. Riding just steps from the Brenta, with the Grappa massif watching over you from above, always provides that thrill of cycling epicness. 📈 Track Analysis With 170 km on the clock and a modest elevation gain of 640 m, this is the ultimate track for cross-country skiers. There are no impossible walls, but the challenge is to maintain the pace: • Terrain: A balanced mix of embankments, beaten dirt roads, and low-traffic asphalt sections. • Difficulty: High for the distance, moderate for the gradient. Ideal for testing your mental strength and energy management. 🎒 Tips for those who want to repeat it 1. Refreshments: Between Marostica and Bassano, there are excellent places for a coffee and a quick sandwich before tackling the return journey. 2. Wind: The flatlands in these areas are unforgiving; always check the direction of the winds before setting off! 3. Setup: Fast-rolling tires (38-42mm) are the ideal choice for flying on the dirt roads of the Treviso and Padua areas. #VenetoCentraleGravel #GravelVeneto #BassanoDelGrappa #Marostica #GravelCycling #Endurance #StradeBianche #Treviso #Padova #Vicenza Distance covered: 170 km | Elevation gain: 640 m | Time: 7 hours | Suitable for gravel and mountain bikes with good training, e-bike 🚲 #cervelo 👕 Sporty outfit #sportful 🪖#abus_cycling 🕶 #oakleysunglasses Sutro S ⌚️#iwatch 🧭 #garmin 830 🎥 #insta360 Go 2 Track: The GPX track is available for a small symbolic donation of €5.
