Today we’re leaving Denmark and flying back home to Madeira after spending an unforgettable month with family. Before saying goodbye, I wanted to take you along for one final week of summer—a week filled with some of my favorite places in Copenhagen, quiet neighborhoods, beautiful parks, delicious local food, meaningful family moments, and a few hidden gems that many visitors never get to see. We wander through the charming streets of Frederiksberg and Nørrebro, revisit places that shaped my younger years, enjoy one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had, experience an unforgettable vegan fine dining restaurant, and explore a beautiful art exhibition inspired by nature. Along the way, I also share a few little pieces of Danish culture—from the way we use cemeteries as peaceful parks to one of our oldest summer traditions celebrating graduating students. As our month in Denmark comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on everything this trip has meant. Although I came home under difficult circumstances, this month also became an unexpected gift. It gave me precious time with my family. Long conversations with my mum. Quiet evenings together. New memories with Joen. And a reminder of how important it is to slow down and spend time with the people we love. Sometimes the most meaningful journeys aren’t about discovering somewhere new. They’re about rediscovering the places—and the people—that have always felt like home.
