Ecologist Alexander von Humboldt believed that no fact could be considered in isolation from its causes and effects. With this thought, psychologist Nina Braga understands nature as part of a whole – as it should be – thus bringing three important characteristics to education: belonging, awareness, and respect, thereby meeting needs without harming future generations. “Let's make environmental education something present, playful, fun, transversal to everything, so that we can regain the notion that it is part of our lives,” in the same way that children, when educated correctly, also have the capacity to educate. The environment is a social issue, as it is our environment for learning and teaching, and when we do not respect it, it results in violence against human beings themselves.
