The fire that broke out this Friday in La Bisbal d’Empordà, Girona, and is burning through the protected natural area of ​​Les Gavarres, has already reached houses in the Cabanyes de Calonge residential area, where one house has burned down and another 12 have suffered damage to their gardens and fences. A farmhouse has also burned. The fire, fueled first by the Tramuntana wind and then the Marinada wind, affects a perimeter of 2,400 hectares (with some areas within the fire that have not yet reached the flames, known as green islands), according to the latest official figures.
