CRECER en SOLEDAD (Friedrich Nietzsche) - ¿Cómo reaccionó ZARATUSTRA al estar SOLO y ACOMPAÑADO?
One of the fundamental questions addressed by Friedrich Nietzsche is whether social encounters tend to improve people's lives or, on the contrary, end up inhibiting their human development. In order to cover the different spheres of solitude in the most orthodox and clear way possible, whether in form, substance, or absence, I think it's appropriate to turn to what is considered by many to be his magnum opus: "Thus Spoke Zarathustra." Despite his limited or nonexistent communication with his fellow human beings, the prophet values retirement as a more than pleasant and fruitful modus vivendi, as it constitutes, according to him, a perfect means for those seeking to achieve the intellectual and spiritual pinnacle. In this sense, this kind of solitude is similar to a loving mother who scolds her son whenever he strays from her and, by analogy, to the warmth of home. Introspective exploration or self-discovery almost inevitably requires a period of physical solitude for the individual in which their values, convictions, and upbringing can be properly digested, evaluated, and transformed. In other words, the philosopher's preliminary thesis is that being isolated grants one sufficient space and time to gain, through reflection, the mental clarity and emotional sobriety lacking in the social core. Thus, this early characterization of solitude is evoked by the philosopher not in the context of an arid, stormy, and tempting landscape, but as a state of happiness and tranquility in harmony with nature. Now, is solitude proposed as a permanent refuge for humankind? Is isolation the most reliable way to rejoice in the fruits of human existence? The character's answer is rather ambiguous. There are, however, several indications that such a status quo could be, at best, a temporary accommodation. Yes, the period the master spent on the mountain was satisfactory, but his great wisdom did not prevent him from eventually growing tired of being alone and deciding to return to community life.
