VIVIR es SUFRIR (Arthur Schopenhauer) - ¿Por qué la VOLUNTAD nos condena al SUFRIMIENTO?
In his work "The World as Will and Representation," the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer develops the concept of "will" as the intangible foundation that unites all beings and things in the world. Within this framework, he details the foundations of human suffering, as well as its primary cause: the desire that emanates from the will to live. Will humankind have to accept the pendulum of pain and boredom? Is there any real way out of suffering? ⌚ Timeline: 00:00-02:40 - Introduction 02:40-08:53 - The Will to Live 08:53-13:15 - The Evil of Desire 13:15-18:03 - The Pendulum of Life 18:03-24:02 - Human Consciousness 24:02-27:17 - Denial of Suicide 27:17-29:41 - Artistic Contemplation 29:41-33:02 - Ethical Progress 33:02-35:31 - Conclusion 🎙️ Support the channel ► / ramtalks 🤝 You can also support the channel via: Paypal: paypal.me/ramtalks Bitcoin: 1J8tdVXCNGRmhX1AXE43ELrocN3f41kd47 Ethereum: 1LuaK9b8hRf9w4a8dwgYxhStvH9rWX6g2v 📖 Recommended books ► https://amzn.to/3nXBAIg https://amzn.to/3urCL51 https://amzn.to/33qnqFQ https://amzn.to/3xQ8hM6 Hey! Therefore, the most common thing is that the whole of human life is filled with anxiety about preserving one's existence under harsh demands that recur every day. The individual is mercilessly threatened by the most varied dangers and catastrophes, from which he can only escape by exercising constant vigilance. With cautious step and anxiously scanning all around, he continues on his way, for a thousand contingencies and a thousand enemies lie in wait for him. Thus man strode in the savage state, and thus he strode in civilized life; there is no security for him.” Simply put, we don't know why we are here, what our ultimate goal is, both individually and collectively—if there is one—and, to top it all off, no higher entity, universal force, or deity will be responsible for reorganizing and transforming matter to satisfy our vital needs and protect us from the contingencies our environment presents. Given this, what are the most immediate implications? Let's take a look at an excerpt from his book "The Sorrows of the World": "Whoever yearns to banish all doubt about how to view life and needs a compass to guide them through it could do no better than consider it a fatal penance, a colonial punishment, a place of atonement." Indeed, the natural state of humankind is suffering. Contrary to what countless philosophers preached, Schopenhauer maintains that misfortune is the general rule of life, not the exception. In fact, this is the first of the Four Noble Buddhist Truths, and it is called dukkha: discomfort in all its forms (pain, sorrow, affliction, distress, stress, etc.) is inherent to existence in the world. Still, is it really legitimate to proclaim that suffering is a cyst in the human species simply because our preliminary status quo has been convoluted? Beyond the fact that our initial and current conditions reach a considerable hardship, what justification does the German offer?
