EL BUEN VIVIR (Arthur Schopenhauer) - ¿Cuál es la MEJOR FILOSOFÍA de la FELICIDAD para el HOMBRE?

"The Art of Living Well" is a work by Arthur Schopenhauer, one of the greatest exponents of philosophical pessimism and Western thought in the 19th century. The author's central thesis is that being is much more important than possession and representation when it comes to human happiness. This documentary will contrast the first chapter of this book with the most cutting-edge scientific findings and other cognitive, behavioral, and humanistic approaches. ⌚ Timeline: 00:00-02:02 - Introduction 02:02-06:48 - Being, Having, and Representing 06:48-09:45 - Thesis of Intellect 09:45-12:34 - Thesis of Talent 12:34-17:43 - Thesis of Pleasure 17:43-20:56 - Genetics and Happiness 20:56-25:02 - Character and Happiness 25:02-30:18 - Personality Changes 🎙️ Support the channel ►   / ramtalks   🤝 You can also support the channel via: Paypal: paypal.me/ramtalks Bitcoin: 1J8tdVXCNGRmhX1AXE43ELrocN3f41kd47 Ethereum: 1LuaK9b8hRf9w4a8dwgYxhStvH9rWX6g2v 📖 Books by Arthur Schopenhauer ► https://amzn.to/3kQJCmu https://amzn.to/3kOFa7Y https://amzn.to/2W6NNAd https://amzn.to/3kNGxDY https://amzn.to/3kMAGOV https://amzn.to/3eJgdqw Hey! As long as we want something, we suffer from the specific lack that it entails; and when that wanting is satisfied, something worse than discomfort arises: a boredom that makes us feel the emptiness of an unoccupied will." Dire statements, don't you think? There are those who consider human happiness little more than a youthful chimera. And the fact is that, on many occasions, stumbling upon a glorious oasis in the middle of the scorching desert of life already gives us the feeling that it's possible to extrapolate what we've experienced to almost the entirety of our existence, as if it were governed by the nauseating saying "they lived happily ever after" that appears at the end of countless fables and children's stories. For this reason, numerous authors have sought to define the meaning of this ambiguous term "happy" with exquisite and judicious prudence, so that it would not be confused with other similar terms such as joy, calm, or pleasure. I believe it appropriate to address this discussion by referring to the first chapter of his celebrated work, "The Art of Living Well," which perfectly summarizes the author's fundamental notions regarding the subject at hand. Aristotle divided the goods of human life into three classes: those external to us, those of the body, and those of the soul. Maintaining this tripartite division, the author maintains that what differentiates the fate of mortals can be reduced to three fundamental conditions: (1) First, what one is. This would include aspects such as health, strength, beauty, intelligence, personality, and moral character. (2) Second, what one has, that is, property, belongings, wealth, and possessions of all kinds. (3) And thirdly, what one represents, namely, the idea that others adopt about an individual and, consequently, their opinion of him. This last category is also segmented into honor, position, and glory. However, the most notable divergence one can notice is that the influence of man's nature (e.g., being) on his happiness or misfortune is considerably more significant than that exerted by the human rules mentioned above (e.g., tenure and representation). Metrodorus, Epicurus's first disciple, had already entitled one of his chapters thus: "The greatest cause of happiness lies not in what things are at their origin, but in what we are."
