The moment I stepped onto the Miyamasuzakashita intersection in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward, I was engulfed in a maelstrom of energy. Countless footsteps, the murmur of foreign languages, and the ceaseless hammering of redevelopment projects. Walking through Shibuya, the heart of Japan's capital, one senses the ever-changing urban frenzy and, paradoxically, deep loneliness. Leaving the vibrant Center Gai and the under-construction Bunkamura Street, I ventured into the backstreets of the entertainment district, where the tranquility of Chiyoda Inari Shrine, a shrine dating back to 1457, awaited me, a place not mentioned in tourist guides. Standing before the shrine, which has survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and the ravages of war, I realized that unchanging prayers continue to live on beneath the surface of this ever-changing city.
