Vom Kaokoland nach Kunene | Pt. 4 | Kaokoland & Etosha 2023

I'm on my way from Kaokoland to the Kunene region—a long day trip, as I started at Camp Syncro and didn't know where I'd spend the next night. My journey takes me east through Orupembe, where I experience the beautiful colors of Kaokoland during the "golden hour." It's already completely dark when I reach a community campsite, without water or electricity, somewhere along the D3707. The next morning, I realize how beautiful it is here. My journey continues—I cross the imaginary border of Kaokoland into the Kunene region. Along the way, I stop to see mountain zebras, elephants, and springboks. I meet Rainer and Susi, who are camping with me at the beautiful Ongongo Waterfall Campsite near the settlement of Warmquelle. They encourage me to take a day trip into the Hoanib River—another breathtaking piece of nature in Namibia. On my return journey, for the first time since I travelled through Namibia, I experienced a flooded road depression and masses of water after a heavy thunderstorm, which also severely damaged my campsite.
