Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, along with Calia Menethil, Muradin Bronzebeard, and Aethas Sunreaver, defended the city of Theramore from the Horde's relentless attacks, seeking revenge for the deaths of Rexxar and Rokhan at the hands of the Alliance. The Alliance leaders faced the Horde lords: Grom Hellscream, Varok Saurfang, and Rhegar Earthfury. After the fierce defense, the Horde's ranks continued to advance as the Alliance soldiers did their best to hold them back. At the crucial moment, King Arthas Menethil and Queen Jaina Proudmoore arrived with the support of the night elves, led by Shandris Feathermoon and Broll Bearmantle. Thanks to these reinforcements, they were able to easily push back the Horde, resulting in their defeat. Daelin urged King Arthas that this was the perfect opportunity to unleash the full might of the Alliance against the Horde city of Orgrimmar. However, Arthas could not leave the city undefended. Aethas explained that his investigation into the attack on the caravans revealed that the orcs had established several strongholds in the Barrens, and destroying these would allow for an easy assault on the orc capital. Daelin decided to take on this task to weaken the Horde as much as possible, but Shandris and Broll also joined him, making it the perfect opportunity to avenge their brothers who had fallen to the orcs.
