Forcing A Knee After Replacement Can Ruin A Recovery!
I had some comments and questions about the practice of forced knee range of motion being performed by some Doc PTs during their rehabilitation of knee replacement patients, and thought this topic might require a bit more exposition than that of a quick typed reply. While this form of manual therapy can be called for at times and may be beneficial to a patient, it can also be very painful and can run the risk of leading to even more severe dysfunctions. If your Doc PT is choosing to perform this treatment in your knee replacement rehabilitation, you may want to discuss other possible treatments with them after watching this video.
