LIVING ON 50 € A MONTH - Week 3 - EXTREME Grocery Budget Challenge - Vegan, Cheap and Low Waste
Hello you lovely people! :D Join me for the third week of my budget challenge, where I show how to make the most of a minimal food budget. This week, groceries cost an astonishing 7,55 €, proving that frugal living is indeed possible (albeit maybe not everywhere). I'll share my tips for groceries on a budget and demonstrate delicious budget meals. Huzzah!! Recipes: Bread: 500 g flour 1 sachet yeast 1 tsp salt 50 ml sunflowerseed oil 250 ml oatmilk Mix all the ingredients and knead them into a dough. Transfer into an oiled loafpan and let it rise for an hour. Brush the top with a bit of water and cut three times. Bake in the oven at 180° Celsius/350° Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes. Let it cool before you take it out of the pan. Enjoy! :) Marble cake: https://www.einfachkochen.de/rezepte/... Roasted Aubergines and Butter Beans: https://ottolenghi.co.uk/pages/recipe... Quiche: 1 puff pastry 400 g of cooked white beans 3 onions (medium) 4-5 cloves of garlic 1 tube tomato paste (200 g) Salt, pepper, Italian herbs, a pinch of sugar. Bread crumbs. Peel and dice the onions and the garlic. Saute them in a little bit of oil in a pan for about 3-4 minutes. Add most of the tomato paste (except for 1 tbsp), salt, pepper, Italian herbs and sugar. Stir for about 3 minutes, until the tomato paste gets a brownish colour. Add the beans and the contents of the pan into a food processor and mix until you get a fine paste. Put the puff pastry into a quiche pan, stab with a fork and add some bread crumbs. Fill the paste into the quiche pan and smooth the top with a spoon. Bake in the oven at 180 °C/350° Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes. Add the remaining tomato paste on top and create a pattern. Put it back into the oven for another 15 to 20 minutes. Alternatively: Cut about 200 g of cherry tomatoes in half and put into the paste, then bake. Chickpea and Rice Tortilla Soup: https://www.pickuplimes.com/recipe/ch...
