Thousands Of Pounds of Pork Destroyed in Semi Fire DEVORE CA

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6/11/25 11:25 PM LOCATION: Southbound 215, North of Palm Ave AREA/CITY: Devore DETAILS: On June 11th, 2025, at about 11:25 PM, CHP, County Fire, and USFS responded to a reported semi-trailer fire on the Southbound 215 Freeway, just North of Palm Avenue in Devore. The first engine at the scene reported heavy fire from the rear of a semi-trailer on the right shoulder. Firefighters extinguished the fire, but not before significant damage to the trailer and all its contents. It appears the trailer was hauling pork products from Rantoul Foods, but the exact quantity of the load is unknown. Fire crews remained at the scene for an extended overhaul operation. CHP requested a heavy-duty salvage tow to the scene. The number 2 lane was closed while crews worked to extinguish the fire and load the burned trailer. The cause of the fire is believed to be breaks after coming down the Cajon Pass. No other information was provided. HANDLING AGENCIES: CHP Injured?
