Trains & Buses at Mawson Lakes - Adelaide Metro

In this video we visit Mawson Lakes (aka Mawson Interchange), a major transport hub in Adelaide's northern suburbs on the Gawler line. Here at this busy station we see various Adelaide Metro 3000 Class DMU's, various buses including Scania L94UB's, Scania K230UB's, Scania K280UB's, MAN 18.280 HOCL-NL's and more. Most buses seen in the video are operated by Southlink, with one Torrens Transit bus sneaking in. We also see a SCT freight train with CSR004, SCT001 & SCT005. Opening in 2006, Mawson Lakes was the first new station to be built in Adelaide in over 20 years. It was built to serve the new Mawson Lakes suburb which began constructed in 1998. The station has become one of the busiest in Adelaide, and is one of the few to feature a fully enclosed waiting room and a kiosk. In a sense it was also a pioneering station; it's architectural style with exposed steelwork, perspex canopies and coloured signage have been replicated at most new/upgraded Adelaide train stations, and the station features easy cross-platform interchange between train & bus services, a handy feature that's been replicated at several other stations including Elizabeth and Seaford.
