Filmen im Querformat - die Movikon 8 (1956) von Zeiss Ikon

#diamantakis #studioanalog #movikon8 The name Movikon is derived from the terms "Movie" and "Zeiss Ikon". It was already in use in the 1930s. In 1952, it was the inspiration for a highly unusual double 8 cine camera, constructed transversely, similar to a camera. Filming in horizontal position - the Movikon 8 made it possible due to the special position of the film. Here, the film lies on the side of the film gate (not vertically as usual) and has to be turned twice in reversing loops to be able to run through the film canal. There were several versions of the Movikon 8, including one with an exposure meter. Wide-angle and telephoto attachments were available as accessories. 00:00 Introduction 00:30 The origins of Zeiss Ikon 02:50 My Movikon 8, a unique piece. 03:55 Filming in horizontal position - the Movikon 8 06:23 On our own business 06:46 Closing words Link to the promotional film "Ariane and the Movikon 8"    • Ariane und die Movikon - Agfa-Werbefilm Co...   Link to the Movikon 8 review by Film Photography Podcast, NY    • Zeiss Ikon MoviKon 8mm Camera - Overview a...   The "Diamantakis" collection includes approximately 4,000 exhibits from the fields of photography and cinematography, including many exhibits from the Eumig company. It is now looking for publicly accessible space for a museum to document in detail the history of photo and film development. The greatest possible flexibility has been ensured in the choice of location. If you are interested to house the collection closed without snatching "fillet pieces" please contact: [email protected].
