Photography 196: How many megapixels do YOU need?
We don't all have the same requirements. A wildlife photographer or sports photographer may want high megapixels so they can crop into their subject. Snapshots for social media hardly need more than 2 or 3 MP for most uses. For me the 10 to 15 MP range covers pretty much everything. I can manage with my 6MP Pentax, my 10MP Olympus, my 12MP Pen cameras and on to my 24MP maximum on Sony APS-C and full frame. Sure I want more (like most of us) but the reality is that what I have is plenty. Enjoy.
