Left alone with the vast blue stillness of Pangong Tso, I felt something unexpected, loneliness amplified by beauty. The lake was grand, endless, indifferent. Standing there, I realized how solitude feels different when you are surrounded by something larger than your own existence. I rode on, quieter than before. The road to Rezang La was not just another high-altitude pass—it was a reminder. A place where the land remembers sacrifice, where silence speaks louder than engines. By the time I reached Hanle, the sky had widened, stars spilling freely above me, as if the universe itself had slowed down to listen. The next morning, the calendar reminded me it was my birthday. Instead of celebration, I chose elevation. I turned my scooter toward Umling La, the world’s highest motorable road. Every breath became effort. Every kilometer questioned intention. The climb stripped away comfort, ego, and expectation. Did I make it to the top? That truth unfolds on the road, not in words. The return journey didn’t feel like coming back—it felt like arriving.
