Just when Vietnam was beginning to feel familiar, it surprised me again. Leaving behind the chaos of the south, my Sakhi and I arrived in Central Vietnam, where the pace slowed down and every street seemed to carry a story. We wandered through the lantern-lit alleys of Hoi An Ancient Town, drifted through coconut forests in the famous basket boats, and found ourselves lost between history, culture, and the simple joy of being somewhere completely new. But while Vietnam was opening its doors to us, another story was unfolding behind the scenes. A client project that had brought us here suddenly went silent. Calls went unanswered. Messages stayed unread. Plans that looked certain just days ago began falling apart. Somewhere between deadlines and disappointment, I found myself standing on the Golden Bridge of Ba Na Hills, realizing how little control we actually have over life. Yet that's the strange thing about travel. Sometimes the best moments begin when the original plan fails. From the colorful streets of Hoi An to the vibrant coastline of Da Nang, from the clouds of Ba Na Hills to the glowing lanterns reflected on the Thu Bon River, this chapter became less about work and more about trust—trusting the journey, trusting uncertainty, and allowing a place to reveal itself without expectations.
