Wildfire smoke from Canada is blanketing Northeast Ohio, creating "very unhealthy" air quality throughout the region. The situation has been designated as a "code maroon" by the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, which AirNow.gov lists as the highest level for ozone and particle pollution. "A code maroon air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the local region are extremely hazardous for the general population," according to NOACA.
