Custard Cake or Flan Cake is a Filipino dessert that is delicious and easy to make. It's a creamy custard dessert accompanied by rich, delightful caramel sauce. It's smooth, almost gelatin-like and combines with that soft and fluffy chiffon cake. Ingredients: pan size : 10 x 6 inch loaf pan (not 9 inch as mentioned in the video) Caramel Syrup: 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup water Flan: 6 egg yolks (large egg) 1 1/2 cup evaporated milk ( 410ml) 1 can condensed milk (380g) 1 tsp vanilla extract Cake: 4 egg yolks (large egg) 1 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup oil 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Meringue: 4 egg whites (large) 1/4 cup sugar Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Note: Halfway of baking, make sure to put aluminum foil on the top of the cake to prevent from burning.
