Chicago & North Western, Conrail, Amtrak, MARC 1986! Trains from the Rockies to the East 1985-1986 features trains with multiple locomotives on the point and cabooses on the end. This was an age before distributed power and graffiti painted on most freight cars. The show opens on the pre-mega merger Colorado Joint Lines, featuring trains of the Rio Grande, Santa Fe, and Burlington Northern railroads. Many locomotives per train were required to traverse the mountainous Palmer Divide. Then cross the Midwest prairies with high speed freights on the Union Pacific and Chicago & North Western transcontinental routes. Conrail freights cross the lift bridge over the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio. Finally, high speed passenger trains traverse the famous electrified Northeast Corridor between Philadelphia, PA and Washington DC.
