PISTACHIO SCONES: Positively Scrumptious and So Easy to Make
I love baking something homemade and sweet to enjoy with a hot cup of coffee, and these Pistachio Scones could not be more perfect. They are positively scrumptious and so easy to make, you'll be making them again and again. The best part of the recipe I share in this video, is that it works with whatever kind of scone you want to make, so keep that in mind as you watch. A printable version of this recipe can be found at https://www.marcyinspired.com but I'll include a written recipe below, as well. For a curated list of kitchen tools and accessories I recommend, you can visit my Amazon Storefront at https://www.amazon.com/shop/marcyinsp... I earn from qualifying purchases. Pistachio Scones 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2/3 cup butter, chilled 10 Tbsp. milk (may need to add 1 or 2 more depending on consistency) 1 tsp. pistachio extract (or almond extract) 3/4 cup chopped pistachios Whisk together all dry ingredients in large bowl. Cut butter into flour mixture using pastry blender. Combine milk and pistachio extract in small bowl, then add to flour mixture. Stir to form dough. Add pistachios and gently knead evenly into mixture. (If you still have dry flour remaining, add more milk one Tbsp. at a time.)Take half of the dough and place on well-floured surface and shape into a disk (flat round circle). Cut dough into 6 or 8 triangle wedges. Place on cookie sheet. Repeat the process with the other half of the dough. Bake 18-20 minutes in 400º oven. For the icing: 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, sifted 2 tsp. milk 1/4 tsp. pistachio extract (or almond extract) *optional 1 drop green and 1-2 drops yellow food coloring Sift the powdered sugar into a small bowl. Add milk and pistachio extract and stir well until left with a smooth glaze. Glaze can be used as-is, or you can color it by adding 1 drop of green and 1 to 2 drops of yellow food coloring. Mix well and drizzle icing over pistachio scones while still warm and enjoy! Thanks for checking out this video.
