SHOW DETAILS Show: Tarka Host: Rida Aftab Special: Birthday Episode Date: 17 April 2026 Channel: Masala TV RECIPES FEATURED • Bhuna Shimla Mirch Qeema Ingredients: • Beef mince – ½ kg • Onion – 250 grams (sliced) • Tomatoes – 1 cup (chopped) • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tablespoon • Green chilies – 10 • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon • Salt – 1 teaspoon (or to taste) • Allspices powder – 1 teaspoon • Cinnamon stick – 1 piece • Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons • Crushed red chili – 1 teaspoon • Fresh coriander – 1 bunch (chopped) • Oil – 1 cup • Capsicum (bell peppers) – 2–3 (sliced) Method: 1. Heat oil in a pan and add whole spices (like cinnamon). Sauté until fragrant. 2. Add minced beef, crushed red chili, salt, turmeric, onions, ginger garlic paste, and all remaining spices. Cook well until the mince changes color. 3. Add tomatoes and cook until they soften. 4. Pour in 2 cups of water, cover, and let the mince cook until tender. 5. In a separate pan, heat some oil and lightly fry the capsicum and green chilies. 6. Add the fried capsicum and chilies to the cooked mince and mix well. 7. Sprinkle fresh coriander on top, cover, and let it simmer (dum) for 5 minutes. • Dal Makhni Rice Ingredients: • Boiled moong dal (split yellow lentils) – 2 cups • Boiled rice – ½ kg • Onion – 1 (sliced) • Tomatoes – 2 (blended/pureed) • Red chili powder – 2 teaspoons • Milk – 1 cup • Cream – 1 cup • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon • Salt – 1 teaspoon (or to taste) • Butter – 100 grams • Allspices powder – 1 teaspoon • Green chilies – as required • Fresh coriander – as required (chopped) • Garlic – 4 cloves • Curry leaves – 4 • Oil – 4 tablespoons Method: 1. Heat oil in a pot and fry the sliced onion until golden. 2. Add pureed tomatoes along with all the spices (red chili powder, turmeric, salt, allspices) cook well until the oil separates. 3. Add the boiled moong dal, milk, and cream. Mix and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat. 4. In a separate frying pan, heat butter along with a little oil. 5. Add chopped garlic and curry leaves, and fry until aromatic. 6. Pour this tempering (tarka) over the dal. 7.
