A trip round my Mum’s Cumbria garden which she carved with her own fair hands out of a field

My mum is 81 years old and still gardens every day in this just less than an acre garden which she carved herself by hand out of a limestone rocky fellside field in Cumbria. Helped by her friend Carol only once a week Mum keeps herself extremely fit while exercising her quilting artist’s plantwoman’s eye here on a daily basis. There’s always so much to do, with checking for hedgehogs and moving wild orchids onto the sphagnum moss roof of the potting shed just two of the many chores she loves because look what they make!
