#7 Electric blue & lush green (Zakynthos, Greece)

Blue, blue, electric blue from David Bowie's Sound & Vision song is what it reminded me off at this short start walk to Shipwreck beach, in the North of Zakynthos. Unbelievable azure blue colours at this inescapable tourist spot with lots of boats down below at the beach. After all the blue a bit more tough hike into a mountain valley and climb to the nearby monastry of Theotokos Anafonitria in the hills at 450 m. A religious community with nuns all in black and a very quiet, devote place. The 13,5 km hike goes through forests and bushes with lush green colours all around. Start in the village of Volimes and return via Ano (‘high’) Volimes.
