#8 City sidelines (Going North)

Hiking to the Northwest end of Dutch mainland in several stages via the ‘Waterlinie’ (LAW 17) and ‘Noord-Holland’ path. Kick-off with a windy April hike (20km) from Utrecht to Maarssen. The path follows the historic Dutch waterline defense system along various fortifications - a Unesco world heritage monument. This track is very close to the city, but surprisingly you’ll hardly see it as it crosses nice Dutch sceneries with green pastures, ditches, ponds, windmills and the like. Nevertheless you always hear the city and traffic.
