PART 2 | 12 HOURS IN SHENZHEN | Exploring World's Futuristic City | DRIVERLESS TAXI | DRONE DELIVERY
CHINA TRAVEL VLOG PART 2 🇨🇳 | Driverless Taxi, Huawei & Futuristic Shenzhen! Welcome back to my China travel series! Day 2 begins at Guangzhou South Railway Station as I head towards China's most futuristic city, Shenzhen. I booked my high-speed bullet train ticket through Trip.com for just AED 47. The official Chinese railway app, 12306, is another great option, but international travellers should complete passport verification in advance for a smoother booking experience. One surprising thing about this journey was that the coach was almost completely empty. I was the only passenger in my cabin! The train took only 45 minutes to reach Shenzhen, proving once again how incredible China's high-speed rail network really is. Since I was staying in Shenzhen for only a few hours, I didn't book any hotel. Instead, I used a luggage storage facility located outside the railway station. It was extremely convenient and can easily be accessed and paid for using Alipay or WeChat. I started exploring the city from the Financial Centre and Exhibition Centre before heading to the Huawei Flagship Store at MixC Mall. As a tech enthusiast, I was amazed by Huawei's latest innovations, including the latest tri-fold smartphones, the Huawei Pura series, smart glasses, and many other cutting-edge products. The biggest surprise was getting a close look at the luxurious Maextro S800. Features like touch-free door opening, built-in projectors, zero-gravity seats, massage functions, private conversation mode, and many other AI-powered technologies left me absolutely speechless. This car truly showcased how advanced Chinese automotive technology has become. After exploring the tech world, I stopped for some delicious noodles at the food court before heading to the DJI Flagship Store at OCT Harbour. As someone who uses several DJI products, visiting the world's largest DJI store was an unforgettable experience. Next, I visited Shenzhen Talent Park to witness one of the city's most fascinating innovations: drone food delivery. Watching drones deliver food directly to kiosks was an incredible experience, and many visitors were ordering food just to see the futuristic delivery process in action. WeChat is currently the easiest way to place orders. But the day's highlight was yet to come. I finally experienced a completely driverless taxi! Yes, a taxi with absolutely no driver behind the wheel. The vehicle was entirely controlled by AI and navigated the roads safely on its own. Surprisingly, this futuristic experience cost only 6 Yuan for a 300-metre ride. By evening, I made my way to Huaqiangbei, widely known as the world's largest electronics market. The area is packed with endless shopping options, gadgets, electronics, and accessories. After exploring Huaqiangbei, I rushed back by metro to collect my luggage from the storage station before heading to Shenzhen East Railway Station to catch my overnight train to Zhangjiajie. The journey was around 14 hours long, including a train transfer. Even though it was a long trip, the sleeper train was surprisingly comfortable. The berth was clean, bedding was provided, and all the basic necessities were included, making the overnight journey quite pleasant. One of the best parts of travelling is meeting new people, and during this journey, I met Brian, who spoke excellent English. We had some interesting conversations, making the journey even more enjoyable. Later, I had dinner on the train, relaxed for the night, and brought an end to an exciting second day in China. Day 2 was filled with futuristic experiences, cutting-edge technology, and unforgettable moments in Shenzhen. See you in the next episode as we continue our adventure to the breathtaking landscapes of Zhangjiajie! 🇨🇳🏔️ Stay tuned!
