Day 8 in Morocco 🇲🇦 | First Hammam Experience + Journey to Casablanca Today was all about experiencing something truly Moroccan. Started the morning with breakfast at the hostel and headed straight to try a traditional Moroccan hammam, something I’ve been looking forward to this whole trip. I chose a place called Nilo Hammam and went with the basic package, which included the traditional scrub and shampoo for just 200 MAD. Since it’s a public hammam, privacy is limited and cameras aren’t really allowed, but I still managed to capture a few moments with the help of the staff. They provide everything you need, bucket, slippers, towel, soap, and shampoo. The full experience took around 30 to 40 minutes including steam, scrub, and shower. Honestly, it was a good experience, but if you’re looking for something more relaxing and premium, going for a private or upgraded hammam option might be worth it. After that, I planned to try famous Bacha coffee but it was too crowded so had to skip it. Later, I checked out from the hostel and made my way to the Marrakech railway station to catch a train to Casablanca, my final destination in Morocco. The train ticket cost 160 MAD for a 3-hour journey, and it was comfortable and scenic along the way. Once I reached Casa Voyageurs, I took a taxi to my hotel, Windsor hotel City Center. Finding budget stays in Casablanca is a bit tricky compared to other cities, so this worked out well. In the evening, I explored around the Medina, picked up some fruits, and tried tacos and Arabic food for dinner. Also got to meet some friendly locals, which made the night even better. Wrapped up the day with some medicine, caught a bit of a cold probably from the long hammam session. Morocco, Day 8 done.
