Instead, it is Azumayasan, one of the 100 famous mountains in Saitama. You may be thinking, "What? Isn't it a famous mountain?", but this is a satoyama that I quite like. There are three reasons for this. ① It is a mountain with beautiful flowers Various flowers bloom from winter to the beginning of summer. February to March is especially recommended. If you go a little further from the wintersweet and adonis flowers, you will be greeted by one of Japan's largest colonies of setsubun grass. (Guide to flowers) ◇Adonis flowers (February to March) They bloom with cute yellow flowers. If you find an adonis flower that blooms orange flowers, it is an endemic species called "Chichibu Beni". ◇Setsubun-sou (February to March) A rare, cute white flower that is also designated as a near-threatened species. Shioya Mountain Foothills ◇Akayashio (April to May) Grows wild near the summit and on the Tsutsuji Shindo trail, an advanced trail. ◇Hanasoubu (June to July) Blooms in abundance in the iris garden near the Toriiyama trail. ◇Wintersweet (January to March) Gives off a sweet fragrance. ②A wide variety of trails that can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced climbers This time, we took the Yakushido trail, which is easy for beginners to go round trip, but if you take the Toriiyama trail, which has a few more ups and downs and is more challenging, you'll find an interesting Chinese-style building at the trailhead. If you take the Tsutsuji Shindo trail, which is more suitable for advanced climbers, you can take a thrilling course with a series of chain sections. There seem to be quite a few footholds, so if you have some experience with chain sections, it doesn't seem too dangerous as long as you proceed carefully. And near the final summit, even if you take the beginner's Yakushido course, there is a chain section. ③ Roadside station Ryokami Onsen Yakushi no Yu is nice The roadside station Ryokami Onsen Yakushi no Yu, which serves as the base for the climb, has a parking space for cars, and is easy to access if you are coming by public transportation, as there are buses from Seibu Chichibu Station and Mitakeguchi Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line. It is also a roadside station with a hot spring, so you can wash off the sweat after climbing, eat the specialty warajikatsu at the restaurant, and enjoy shopping at the local specialty store with its many local products. ◇The precious adonis flower "Chichibu Beni" It is said that if you find this adonis flower, you will be happy. This refers to the orange adonis flower that blooms in the Chichibu mountain range. They bloom on Mt.
