This mountain is also known as Crazy Mountain or Chichibu's Gendarme. As the name suggests, the mountain's shape is crazy itself. Depending on the angle you look at it from, it looks like a horn. Also, walking along the ridge of Nishidake is very thrilling and fun, as you use not only your feet but your whole body to move forward on a rocky area that is only wide enough for one person, and I thought that the name Chichibu's Gendarme was not just for show😊 Futagoyama also became famous after a video of an encounter with a bear on the advanced course of Nishidake was viewed by many people. Bears live in most mountain areas in Japan, not just this mountain, so this was a mountain that made me feel that it is important to take measures to prevent them from meeting each other by equipping yourself with something that makes noise, such as a bear bell or a radio, when going to the mountains.
