PI Webinar Series - Are you on the right track?

Date: 16 April 202 Hosts: Sophie Walmsley & Alastair Prince This session explores the Intermediate Track in personal injury litigation and how practitioners can maximise its procedural and costs advantages. It will cover how cases are allocated between the Fast Track, Intermediate Track and Multi-Track, with practical guidance on identifying when a claim is suitable for the Intermediate Track. The session will also examine complexity banding, explaining the different levels and how they affect case management and recoverable costs. Using examples such as credit hire claims, general personal injury (RTA) matters, and employers’ liability/public liability (EL/PL) injury claims, the session will highlight the types of issues, injuries, or evidential challenges that can move a claim into a higher complexity band. Finally, the session will focus on strategic approaches to making the most of Intermediate Track allocation, including how to position cases effectively, manage procedural steps, and optimise recoverable costs under the current regime.
