Report by Serambi Indonesia Journalist Jafaruddin | North Aceh SERAMBINEWS.COM, NORTH ACEH – Officers from the North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit foiled an attempt to distribute one kilogram of methamphetamine. A pair of perpetrators were arrested at the Geudong Public Gas Station (SPBU), Blang Peuria Village, Samudera District, on Monday (April 4, 2026). The Head of the North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, First Inspector Muhammad Rizal, stated that the two perpetrators arrested were identified as J (37) and S (41). Both are residents of Sawang District. Officers confiscated one package of methamphetamine in a Chinese tea bag weighing one kilogram from the perpetrators. The disclosure of this case began with an intensive investigation into alleged narcotics transactions. Police employed undercover purchasing techniques to determine the perpetrators' roles. During the arrest, the two suspects were unable to resist after officers found evidence of methamphetamine ready for distribution. Initial investigations showed that suspect J admitted to being the owner of the illicit goods, while the female suspect acted as an intermediary who found buyers. Currently, both suspects are being held at the North Aceh Police Detention Center to undergo legal proceedings. Police are still investigating this case to uncover the wider network, including the origin of the methamphetamine. For their actions, both perpetrators are being charged under Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which carries a heavy penalty. The police urge the public to continue playing an active role in eradicating drugs by reporting any suspicious activity in their respective communities.
