COL NUDO 2.471 m | la cima più alta dell’Alpago

The highest peak in Alpago, Col Nudo (2,471 m), can be reached from the parking lot. Following the dirt road, it begins shortly after the Carota refuge, reaching the C. Stabali area at 1,035 m. Following trail marker 965, which initially starts as a mule track and then narrows and climbs steeply through the woods, you reach the Scalet Alta fork (1,590 m). From here, continue towards Busa Toronda (1,997 m) and Passo Valbona (2,130 m). We continue climbing following the signs for Col Nudo and Cima Lastei, crossing steep meadows (trail marker 930). From Cima Lastei, we head west along the ridge and soon reach the crux of the climb: a somewhat exposed but not difficult ridge. Following cairns and markers, we soon reach the summit of Col Nudo. The descent can be done via the same route as the ascent or, as we did, continuing along the ridge westward to a notch. This is easily descended and a trail on scree soon intersects with trail 937 (Alta Via No. 7), which leads to Busa Toronda.
