Smart Mobility: flussi e reti nella città contemporanea | Elisabetta Venco | TEDxPaviaStudio
Mobility research and planning recognize the characteristics of settlements as a key factor in generating flows of people, goods, and merchandise, and in the resulting physical movements. Understanding the tangible and intangible relationship between the specific and diffuse elements of settlements and the demand for mobility is therefore a prerequisite for effective planning. The concept of Smart Mobility is closely linked to the idea of the Smart City, where, thanks to the spread of new technologies (Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and next-generation networks), cities' physical infrastructures are connected to the human, intellectual, and social capital of citizens to meet their needs, those of businesses, and institutions. Smart Mobility aims to offer citizens a completely new, flexible, and integrated mobility experience from the first to the last mile, making flows faster, safer, more efficient, less polluting, and therefore more sustainable. Elisabetta Venco, Engineer/Architect, is a Research Fellow in Urban Planning and Techniques and a lecturer in Urban Planning Techniques at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAr) of the University of Pavia. She is the author and co-author of numerous national and international scientific publications and monographs. Her research focuses on territorial and urban planning and design, and on the study and definition of tools for flexible, smart, sustainable, and safe cities. Her research focuses on preventive planning for the reduction of natural risks, with particular reference to reducing urban exposure. She has conducted significant research on methodological approaches for the development and redevelopment of cycle and pedestrian paths in urban and regional contexts, for the development of urban energy communities, and for the development of rural-urban contexts. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
