The city feels alive: cafes, restaurants, local shops, palm trees, sea air, and that relaxed Mediterranean feeling that makes Albania such an interesting place for a summer trip. My goal is simple: I want to visit the place where Albania was born. In the heart of Vlore, I walk toward Monumenti i Pavarësisë, the Independence Monument, one of the most meaningful places in the country. When I arrive, I see the statue of Ismail Qemali raising the Albanian flag. As an Albanian, this moment hits differently. It is not just a tourist stop or a monument for photos. It feels emotional, personal, and powerful. I explain the story of Albanian independence, the importance of Vlore, and why this city is more than a stop on the way to the Albanian Riviera beaches. After visiting the monument, I decide to see Vlore from above and look for a taxi to take me toward a nearby castle viewpoint. But Albania always has a surprise. The taxi driver suggests I visit the Old Town of Vlore first. The Old Town of Vlore feels like another world. One street away from the busy city, I find colorful buildings, flowers, restaurants, souvenir shops, quiet corners, and a beautiful atmosphere made for walking, filming, eating, and exploring. Then I stop inside a clothing shop that sells traditional Albanian clothes. This part connects the city walk with culture, heritage, local craft, and identity.
